Foundations and Concealers

Shopping for a new foundation can be overwhelming, even to seasoned professionals. Cream foundations, a liquid foundations, bb creams, and cc creams... So where do you start? In this section I'll be going through the different types available, hopefully making it all a little bit clearer. First I'll go over the different types of foundations and the best ways to apply them, and then I'll move on to different finishes, and then concealers.

Before I get into that, I'd like to point out the most two most common mistakes people make:

1. Not matching their foundation to their skin tone. If you want to look tanned, chose the correct shade of foundation, and use a bronzer to give a sun-kissed look (we'll cover that in the next section). Your foundation should blend seamlessly down your neck, so that it doesn't just look like a mask you're wearing on your face.  When matching foundation, test it on your jaw line.  Your hands and arms are usually a completely different colour to your face, so you won't get a good match if that's where you test it.

2. Thinking that you need to apply foundation all over your face. If the only place you're not happy with is your cheeks, then just apply your foundation there. If your foundation is the right colour, you won't need to apply it all over your face, as you'll just be covering and correcting the areas that need it most. Of course, you can wear foundation all over your face (many people do), just don't feel that this is the way you have  to do it.
